ERIK L. SHAWN
An associate at Levy Phillips & Konigsberg, LLP, Erik Shawn's main practice area is complex litigation with an emphasis on class actions, consumer and mass tort actions, and financial matters. Erik joined LPK after practicing for many years at an international plaintiffs' law firm that specialized in complex litigation and class action lawsuits. At his prior firm, Erik worked on cases involving consumer and financial fraud, personal injury and mass torts, intellectual property and antitrust law, international law, employment law, and environmental law.
Erik is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Constitution Society, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar - Member of Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution and Member of Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction, the New York County Lawyers Association, the Brandeis Lawyers Network and the American Association of Justice.
Erik has served as a moot court judge for the New York University School of Law First Year Lawyering Program and for students at Fordham Law School. He has also taught a Continuing Legal Education course to New York attorneys on Ethics in Complex Litigation.
Erik received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Brandeis University in 1992. He received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1995. In law school, he interned for United States District Judge Charles Haight and mediated legal disputes in state court in Brooklyn, New York.
