Jim is licensed to practice law in New York, the Southern District of New York, and New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rutgers University in 1999. Jim received his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law - Camden in 2008.

During his second year of law school, he joined the staff of the law review, The Rutgers Law Journal, and was elected Editor-in-Chief during his third year. Jim also participated in the Children’s Justice Clinic, where he advocated for juveniles in court, and in his school’s moot court program, where he won multiple awards for his legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
