MELISSA L. STEWART

An associate at Levy Phillips & Konigsberg, LLP, Melissa L. Stewart focuses on mass torts, consumer fraud, and complex litigation.  Prior to joining LPK, Melissa clerked for the Honorable Edward C. Prado of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.  She then worked in private practice where she litigated cases involving pharmaceutical and toxic mass torts, and securities and consumer fraud class actions. 

Ms. Stewart graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., 1992), (M.S., 1998) and earned her law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D., 2002), where she was named the Outstanding Law Graduate by the National Association of Women Lawyers.  Ms. Stewart was a member and Executive Editor for the Cardozo Journal of International & Comparative Law. 

Ms. Stewart is admitted to practice in New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Stewart is on the Board of Directors of the stageFARM off-broadway theater group and La Isla Foundation.  Ms. Stewart is fluent in Spanish.
